Terms of Service
The terms on which organisations use PubTrust, a ClearTrust product.
The agreement
These terms are an agreement between ClearTrust — the contracting entity will be named in the reviewed version — and the organisation that creates a PubTrust account ("you"). The person accepting them confirms they have authority to bind that organisation. A signed order form takes precedence where it conflicts with these terms.
The service
PubTrust provides a JavaScript tag, an edge network, a dashboard, an API and an MCP server that detect, report and — where you enable it — block advertising creatives on your websites, according to policies you control. New Sites start in Monitor mode, in which nothing is blocked. Enforcement is your decision: switching a policy to Block, allowlisting and weight changes are made by you, including when an agent you have connected proposes them and you approve.
What we do not promise
No ad-quality system identifies every harmful or non-compliant creative, and none avoids every false positive. We do not warrant that PubTrust will catch or allow any particular creative, and we publish no detection rate. Estimated revenue impact is an estimate derived from bid data available at decision time, not an accounting figure. Cross-origin creatives are opaque to JavaScript, and the service does what our documentation describes, not more.
PubTrust does not make you compliant with any law, including the Digital Services Act. It provides records and controls that can support your own compliance.
Accounts and acceptable use
- Keep credentials and API keys secure. You are responsible for activity under your account, including by agents you connect.
- Install the tag only on websites you operate or are authorised to configure.
- Do not use the service or its policy bundles to evade ad-quality detection, or to build a competing rule corpus.
- Do not probe, overload or attack the service. Report vulnerabilities to security@pubtrust.cc under our responsible disclosure policy.
Plans, fees and metering
Plans are billed through Stripe at the prices published on our pricing page or in your order form, excluding taxes. Usage is metered in hits: one hit is one page view on a protected Site, counted from the tag's summary beacon. Traffic above your plan's included volume is billed at your plan's overage rate, and we email you at 80% and 100% of included volume.
We do not switch off protection because of a billing problem. Past a hard limit we may reduce clean-impression sampling and lock report export, but blocking continues. Upgrades take effect immediately, with usage before the upgrade prorated onto the next invoice; downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period. New organisations can trial the service for 14 days without a payment card.
Your data
You own the data PubTrust processes for you. We process personal data within it as your processor under the Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these terms, and as described in our Privacy Policy. We may use aggregated data that identifies no customer, Site or reader to operate and improve the service — for example, network-wide latency on our status page, and advertiser domains and creatives confirmed as malicious in the shared verdict cache.
Confidentiality
Each party will protect the other's confidential information with at least reasonable care and use it only to perform or receive the service. This does not cover information that is public through no fault of the recipient, already known to it, or independently developed.
Availability and changes
We publish measured decision latency and ingest freshness on our status page. The tag is engineered to fail without breaking your page, and you can remove or disable it at any time. We may change the service, but we will not materially reduce its core functionality during a paid term without notice. Service-level commitments apply only where an order form sets them out.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, each party's total liability is limited to the fees paid or payable in the twelve months before the claim arose, and neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, including revenue lost through advertising that was or was not blocked. The caps and exclusions in this section are subject to legal review.
Term, termination and deletion
You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the billing period. Either party may terminate for a material breach that is not remedied within a reasonable period after notice. When the service ends we stop ingesting immediately; raw event data expires on the normal schedule — 90 days for violations, 30 days for impressions — rollups are deleted on request, and the audit log is kept for its statutory period. Export what you need first: reports as PDF, raw violations through the API.
Governing law
The governing law and the courts with jurisdiction will be stated in the reviewed version.
